Position Summary:

The coordinator for the grant funded project will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the grant, mostly supporting project INCLUDE, a community-based intervention to reduce loneliness and associated health concerns in older adults in Michigan. This position works on community outreach, disseminating information, recruiting, and implementing various measures on older adult wellbeing as part of the umbrella Healthy Aging project pertaining to project INCLUDE. Assists in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the community visits, provides administrative support to students working on the project that includes but is not limited to hiring students for their research sub-projects within the umbrella Healthy Aging project pertaining to project INCLUDE. Develops and distributes surveys for data collection including collecting and preparing data for analysis. Supports project research staff in their project development needs, scheduling and evaluating educational sessions, and tracking participation and analyzing outcomes. This position will report any and all activities to the project research staff; and work in coordination, supervision and guidance of the project research staff. The coordinator is required to support community outreach, requiring travel (field visits) alone or with the project research staff and to implement and coordinate the project with community partners. Coordinates the community and research partners meetings and helps manage administrative work required for all purchases and facilitate the needs of the participating faculty. Performs other duties or responsibilities assigned by the project research staff/faculty, or those that may arise due to any modifications, expansions or additions made to the project implementation.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in business, psychology, social work, or related field or combination of education and related experience that equates to four years. Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks effectively, including exceptional attention to detail, organization, timeliness and follow through. Demonstrated ability to solve problems. Strong project management skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various constituencies. Demonstrated positive interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and project a positive image. Working knowledge of computer applications. Ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job.

Provides administrative support to research, plan, organize and evaluate all aspects of the project including but not limited to training programs for students and professionals. Consults with the managers and supervisors to assess project needs, gap analyses, and develops or facilitates to manage and match these needs. Continuously evaluates procedures to monitor and analyze program effectiveness. Prepares and distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids; sets up audiovisual equipment and makes presentations when necessary.
