Description
This part time role serves on a collaborative team to plan and facilitate a comprehensive first year experience, inclusive of orientation programming and first year cohort specific programs, in conjunction with existing programs and staff. In addition, this role includes specific Title III grant objectives such as student interventions with assigned cohorts, based on academic performance, attendance, or referrals; working with faculty and academic leadership to embed first year experiences into gateway courses; and the creation of pathways to help students constructively engage with college resources.
This position is grant funded, with funding through September 30, 2025.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with a variety of offices including student life, admissions, advising, and academic departments to plan and facilitate a student experience process from application through graduation with an emphasis on their first-year experiences.
Serve as lead to assigned First Year Student cohort(s)/program and develop retention based, interactive curricular and co-curricular activities.
Coordinate day to day implementation of specific project activities, including new student orientation planning and facilitation, first year student programs, student interventions, coordination of marketing efforts, and data recording relevant to the specific activity.
Support students in coordination with relevant on campus offices and academic departments.
Support activity leaders in implementing project tasks, based upon projected timelines.
Advise activity leaders on needs of relevant student groups.
Assist with the collection, analysis and conversion of data related to Title III grant operations and with evaluations for grant funded operations.
Design and facilitate training for college staff and faculty on topics that will improve overall service to students within the assigned cohort, based on information gathered from researched best practices, training, and direct experience with cohort members.
Maintains records of students served and services provided. Maintains essential records and files and assists in maintaining all EM/SS self-service forms and web content.
Utilize strong organizational, communication and management skills to successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Assists with front line services for walk in coverage as well as responding to phone, email or social media inquiries from students and college personnel utilizing a demonstrated knowledge of college policy, processes and procedures related to EM and SS departments, as needed and appropriate to the students served by the grant.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree required in psychology, student affairs/higher education, or human services or other similar fields; master’s degree in similar areas preferred.
Experience Required:
Experience in supporting students in a higher education setting required.

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
