Our Energy & Transportation (E&T) segment has a broad portfolio of products and services - which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. We deliver these products and services to Cat machine, oil & gas, power generation, transportation, and industrial customers. E&T is also developing the advanced power sources of the future and is working on many solutions to help our customers lower their carbon footprint. Additionally, our Remanufacturing Division is another key component to the E&T portfolio, which provides great economical and sustainability benefits to customers.

Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) provides exciting opportunities for accountants who want to be challenged and are

interested in being directly involved with business decisions. The role provides financial analysis and planning support to LPSD which is a fast-paced, innovative, and growing global organization. This position is on the LPSD Consolidations Team.

What You Will Do:

This position is responsible for consolidated Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) financial analysis & reporting, with a focus on leading material cost reporting across the division. The following activities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination of material cost processes and reporting

  • Estimating various forecast and budget scenarios as needed based on changing business conditions

  • Financial accounting including consolidation, analysis and communication of results / explanations for material, variable manufacturing, inventory, and capital expenditures

  • Internal management accounting, including engines business unit reporting

  • Presentation and explanation of results to management

  • Communication of results to Corporate Offices and Business Unit partners

  • Drive improvement in forecast accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency for consolidated manufacturing costs

  • Support key procurement functions and operations through monitoring and reporting

  • Foreign Currency Exposure Analysis and Reporting

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting OR any Bachelor’s degree with an accounting certification (CPA/CMA)

  • Acc u r ac y a n d A t te n t i o n t o Det a il : Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

  • An a ly t ic a l T h i n king: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Eff e c t i v e C o mm uni c a t i on s: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Mana gi n g M u l t i p l e P ri o r i t ie s: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
