rrPosition Summary:

rThe position ensures effective internal and external communication, branding and messaging by leading and collaborating on communication efforts within the unit and across campus. This position advances the reputation of the University of Idaho and assigned unit(s) through purposeful and creative messaging that is tied to strategic initiatives and builds campus wide and public understanding and support for the teaching and research mission of the unit(s) specifically, as well as the University of Idaho in general. The position will work in a collaborative environment with team members and University Communications and Marketing to create impactful communications.

Duties may include:

  • Write and edit a variety of content in digital and print formats
  • Maintain the project or effort website, social media presence, and online communications; collaborate on data collection for a variety of reports
  • May assist with day-to-day office operations
  • Provide consultation and writing support to department leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

rrMinimum Qualifications:

r

  • Associates Degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations; two additional years of experience (for a total of three years) may substitute for an Associates Degree

{=html} <!-- --> - One year of communications, journalism or public relations experience - Editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials - Working in a customer service-oriented team environment to accomplish shared goals - Handling a variety of projects simultaneously that require a high degree of attention to details

rrPreferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing and editing materials for reports, and presentations
  • Experience using computer software and applications for word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet research
  • Working knowledge of web design principles, printing processes, graphics formats and effective design and photography principles
  • Experience developing, executing, and measuring impact of communications plans and initiatives to achieve organizational goals
  • Experience working in higher education
