Description and Requirements
This is an exciting role in the ThinkSystem Server Development organization that has a strong focus to be the #1 trusted IT Partner in the Datacenter market. The server hardware development engineer will be an integral member of a team responsible for developing innovative and complex server designs to meet customer and business needs. These organic designs provide exposure to the latest technologies from Lenovo and its development partners to meet market demands. The role also entails solving unique client challenges through the custom development of solutions.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
At least 5 years of experience in x86 or AMD architecture and hardware development.
At Least 2 years of experience performing functional validation of complex designs which include CPUs
Proven ability to set up server hardware and software and provide technical support for extended teams (mechanical, S&V, etc.); includes ability to triage and resolve complicated hardware issues, working seamlessly with other engineers on problem investigation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both a team environment and self-directed; passionate about learning new technologies and skills.
Preferred skills:
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Previous experience in FPGA code development and/or validation, DC Power circuit design, and/or PCIe bus design, simulation, and validation.
Experience performing and signal integrity validation
Server design or validation experience
Proficiency in Linux/Windows Operating systems. Experience with OS virtualization.
Strong proficiency in shell scripting (BASH/Perl/Python and Windows Power Shell)
Demonstrated successful hardware design execution on a project with engineering team members located in multiple geographies.
Business acumen to engage with various functional teams required to take projects from concept to production.
