Description The Brad and Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative with West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Teachers Ascend Program Coordinator. About the Opportunity This position will coordinate and maintain the Teachers Ascend program. What You'll Do TA Committee Meetings (roughly 2 hrs per week): 30 min avg prepping notes, checking statuses of things that will be discussed 1 hour meeting per week 30-60 min communications throughout week with team members on range of business or event topics New member business (this is limited as the cohort is nearly complete) Recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new program members Checking status of papers submitted Communicating with admin staff regarding W9s and invoices Initial set-up meeting at Basecamp (1 hr per new member) Member maintenance communications (< 1 hr per week): Communicating with members 1 on 1 and in groups about upcoming events, access, program benefits, etc TA Exclusive Events (fluctuates by season, events may be full day or half day on weekends) 1 big "Recreation Package" event every 2 months: planning, publishing in Airtable & Wix, communications Event prep - getting food or safety supplies together in advance of event Event time, drivetime, arriving early, etc. Reconciling expenses from events Post-event capturing of attendance and photos Other Events (2-4 hrs per week, sometimes less) Encourage Teachers Ascend members to attend certain events on the monthly Ascend calendar On occasion, attend events along with Teachers Ascend members if there is a group that wants to go Serve as liaison between Teachers Ascend steering committee, WVPEC and WVUOEDC and other partners Coordinate mentor involvement and participation in Ascend events Monthly Check-In meetings (roughly 9 hrs per month or 1-2 hrs weekly): Meeting preparations and compiling notes on members Discuss topics including acclimation to new school, workplace things, personal acclimation, event attendance and feedback, upcoming things, access familiarity or issues, general relationship building Other Duties May Include (timing fluctuates by season): Interviewing and transcripts Reviewing and contributing to website updates Attending the Ascend weekly 1-hr Brain Trust meeting due to TA involvement Feedback survey ideas or upcoming benchmarking/reporting needs Oversight on the TA budget spending Work Hours: roughly 32 - 40 hours a month, includes programming on evening and weekends Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in education or a related field. Minimum two (2) years of experience in education as a licensed teacher or in Teaching, Education, K-12 Education or related. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered. All qualifications must be met by the time of employment. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to develop events in recreation, continuing education, professional development, etc. Demonstrated skills in team building and networking Demonstrated ability to learn and implement technology systems including Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, AirTable, HubSpot, project management tools, and more Proficient writing and editing skills, including composition, grammar, punctuation and proofreading Ability to work autonomously, with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team Requirements Licenses/Certifications Valid US Driver's...
