Description The Health Affairs Institute at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a (Hybrid) Manager of IT, Data Integrity and Compliance About the Opportunity West Virginia University's Health Affairs Institute is seeking candidates for two key management positions under the Director of IT, Data Integrity, and Compliance: Manager of Information Systems and Manager of Data Integrity and Compliance. Both roles are instrumental in supporting the Institute's mission to ensure data integrity, compliance, and effective management of information systems. These positions require a blend of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and leadership skills to advance HAI's objectives in improving healthcare data management and security. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in IT management, data governance, or compliance roles, with a strong understanding of HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. Both positions offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment with flexibility. These roles will assist in developing and managing HAI's data management processes, policies, and procedures to support evolving operational and legal requirements. Both the Manager of Information Systems and the Manager of Data Integrity and Compliance will apply knowledge of regulatory guidelines, security policies, and technologies to support the use of data for program evaluation and research. A key function of these positions is to assist in assuring compliance with state and federal laws related to data privacy, requiring a strong knowledge of the HIPAA Privacy Rule. Another critical function is to assist in the identification of procedural risks related to the use of sensitive data, providing guidance for addressing those risks, and ensuring transparency at all levels of the organization. These positions will coordinate and work with institutional IT departments to assist in the development of new technical solutions to meet compliance requirements and define new processes and standard operating procedures to enable teams across the enterprise adhere to policy and legal guidelines and regulations. This includes identifying opportunities for automating existing processes and introducing operational efficiencies when appropriate. HAI serves as the coordinating office for WVU's State-University partnership with the WV Department of Health and Human Services (DoHS). Ideal candidates will have work experience that aligns with the Health Affairs Institute's purpose and the mission of DoHS's Bureau for Medical Services, Bureau for Social Services, Bureau for Behavioral Health, or Bureau for Public Health, and an interest in improving the health of underserved populations, particularly rural, Appalachian populations. These positions allow for flexibility in work location, including remote work/work-from-home options. Travel to the WVU Campus in Morgantown and/or DoHS Offices in Charleston may be necessary based on organizational needs throughout the year.
