Description The Division of Land-Grant Engagement at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Chief of Division Operations.

About the Opportunity TheChief of DivisionOperationsreportsdirectly tothe AVP/Dean of theDivision of Land-Grant Engagement andserves as theprincipal aideaddressing high-levelissues, policies,andcomplexsituations involving a crosssection ofcollegeand university units.Thepositionmanages confidential and sensitive issuesfor the AVP/Dean and develops proposed solutionstoawiderangeof issues.TheChiefof Division Operations represents the AVP/Dean in many interactions with administration,faculty,staff, students, alumni, visiting committees, division advisory committee, and other key constituents of theDivision.The incumbent communicates the AVP/Dean's position and priorities and researches and prepares analyses on a variety of matters. What You'll Do Serveasa member ofthe AVP/Dean'sseniorleadership team engagedinsetting priorities,crisis planning, problem solving, managing change, and advocating support fordecisions. Respond to sensitive and confidentialinquiries with the AVP/ Dean or intheirabsence.Generate talking pointsona varietyof academic, extension, and administrative matters. Research a wide varietyof issuesand prepareanalysesandsummary reports. Assistwith issuesofstrategic importance totheDivisionandthat which advancesthe AVP/Dean's priorities. Review Division and unit policies and procedures and makesuggestions tothe AVP/Dean. Organize theassessment and review of unit heads and administrativeteam members. Provide a reporttothe AVP/Deanbased on the analysis ofthe review. Manageand oversee all operations of the AVP/Dean'sOffice,includingoversight of administrative support staff within the AVP/Dean's administrative team.Review and orprepare the AVP/Dean'scommunicationsincluding specialreports, proposals, announcements, presentations,and agendasfor internal and external audiences, working inclosecoordination with administrative staff. Ensure the timely flow of information to and from the AVP/Dean's Office. Managerequeststothe AVP/Deanfrom both internal andexternalsources,todeterminewhich mattersrequirethe AVP/Dean's direct attention and those which may bereferred toothersor handled directly by the Chief of Division Operations.Oversee delegating responsibilitiesto others as needed and track all items toensure acceptable...
