Robert Half Staff Accountant in Moorpark, California
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the agriculture industry, located in Moorpark, California. This role will entail managing and overseeing a variety of accounting processes, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
Responsibilities:
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and account reconciliation
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of various financial accounts, including bank statements
• Oversee the comprehensive payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation
• Prepare and maintain records related to payroll, including deductions, benefits, and bonuses
• Ensure accuracy of the general ledger by recording payroll transactions and adjustments
• Work closely with the HR team to ensure proper onboarding and offboarding processes
• Prepare and file payroll-related tax returns and forms
• Conduct weekly cash reconciliation for transactions, ensuring consistency between cash collected and sales records
• Manage accounting processes related to e-commerce sales, including tracking revenue, processing payments, and managing refunds
• Reconcile online sales with payment processor statements, ensuring all transactions are accounted for
• Oversee petty cash disbursements and tracking
• Assist with coordination of merchandise sales including inventory tracking
• Track and enter expense reports. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position within the Agriculture industry
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and management
• Proficient in creating and managing Journal Entries
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
