Lowe's Services Environmental & Safety Program Director in Mooresville, North Carolina

Your Impact

The Services Environmental & Safety Program Director is to lead the development, implementation and execution of the environmental and safety aspects of Lowe's Services programs. In this role, the Services Environmental & Safety Program Director will generate responses to government entities and regulators; monitor and manage Lowe's systems, processes, and resources; and provide accountability and guidance to Lowe's third party service providers. This role will provide cohesive, comprehensive oversight of Lowe's field engagement with environmental and safety issues and ensure that Lowe's associates are appropriately trained. This role will lead people, process, and systems across Lowe's Services Compliance to deliver environmental and safety performance in line with Lowe's brand, customer, and stakeholder expectations. This role includes the responsibility to understand and develop expertise in Lowe's environmental and safety requirements, drive a mind-set and culture of continuous improvement, and sustain a culture of learning and development. The role is responsible for regular regulatory reporting and analysis, measurement scorecards, identifying and mitigating risks, and managing others. Exceptional leadership, customer focus, project management and stakeholder management will be key factors in the success of this role. Working across all teams collaboratively in support of the strategy and tactical execution is also a key focus area. Knowledge of the construction industry, environmental requirements, and safety requirements are essential to success in the role. Responsibilities also consist of knowledge of any/all environmental and safety regulations, statutes, or other requirements applicable to the company throughout the country, execution of job site visitations, and audits in conjunction with store/field teams.

What you will do

•Develop, implement, and refine industry leading environmental and safety practices in Lowe’s installation business coordinating people, process and technology to meet legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements

•Monitor and deliver reporting on environmental and safety performance to internal and external stakeholders

•Oversee associate training regarding EPA, OSHA, and other relevant environmental and safety standards and regulations, and develop techniques to keep this training current, relevant, and top of mind

•Lead a team (currently 3 direct reports, + indirect influence, and contract resources) responsible for reporting, system and process development, associate training and escalations, and customer and PROvider escalations

•Serve as a leader and brand ambassador to promote company activities related to federal and state environmental and safety requirements.

•Have retail construction industry knowledge and understanding of applicable environmental and safety practices.

•Subject Matter Expert on environmental and safety regulations, statutes, or other requirements applicable to the company across the country as well as applicable policies and practices for Lowe’s; review and make recommendations on updates to applicable policies and practices; perform audits against these items.

•Plan and coordinate travel to build/maintain relationships with field leadership and state and federal environmental and safety agencies.

•Analyze data to identify issues, root causes, and trends in procedure gaps and execution. Based upon findings, develop and implement action to mitigate

•Indirectly influence Lowe’s leadership and employees to take

•Identify developmental needs of geographic areas, specific stores or specific independent installers and provides coaching, skills training and other developmental opportunities to enhance knowledge or skills.

•Collaborate and communicate cross functionally with internal and external groups, including but not limited to: Store/Field/SSC Associates and Leaders, Building Officials, Customer, Legal, Code Enforcement, Environmental Entities, Safety Agencies, and Independent PROvider network.

•Monitor, report out, enhance, and implement training requirements for stores, field leadership and independent installers to ensure compliance to environmental and safety practices.

•Interact with Independent PROviders and customers on job-site visits and in response to complaints, based upon business need.

•The Services Environmental & Safety Director will work closely with various entities to mitigate environmental and safety risk, including for current and future installation capabilities and categories.

•Negotiate and contract with third party services to support compliance strategies as needed to include training.

•Manage resources, budgets and expenses as related to Services Environmental & Safety Director

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High School or GED and 10 years of experience working in the Home Improvement or Construction Industry or Regulatory Compliance Industry

OR

• Bachelor's Degree Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Administration, Environmental, Safety, Compliance and 10 years of equivalent work experience preferred

• 5 years of experience working in the home improvement, regulatory compliance or construction industry

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Licensed driver with reliable transportation and ability to pass MVR screening Licensed driver with reliable transportation and ability to pass MVR screening
