Lowe's HR Compliance Policy and Program Manager in Mooresville, North Carolina

Your impact

In partnership with the Sr. HR Compliance Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to lead a team responsible for ensuring employment compliance by providing advice, consultation, and guidance on company policies and processes related to regulatory matters. The role is to ensure consistency in HR policy design across all Lowe's US locations. This role manages a team of Policy and Program Leads responsible for assessing, identifying, designing, and deploying efficient process improvements related to HR compliance programs. This role supports the communication and implementation of identified changes; evaluates and updates HR policies and works closely with key HR stakeholders in Legal, compliance and other COEs. The role is also responsible for governing the oversight of all HR Compliance documentation and is responsible for HR compliance programs oversight related to the associate lifecycle.

What you will do

  • Leads a team of HR Program and Policy Leads responsible for maintaining all HR policies and HR compliance programs (I9s, Drug Testing, Unemployment, Compliance Posters, etc).

  • Partners with appropriate stakeholders, such as regulatory compliance, business leaders, Associate Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Legal and government affairs, to maintain consistency and alignment of policy and procedures across all US locations

  • Serves as Project Manager, partnering with stakeholders to create and implement new and revised processes and system enhancements to ensure efficient and effective processes as well as compliance with federal, state, county and city employment laws and regulations and/or Lowe’s policies.

  • Routinely uses data and trends to influence senior leadership when providing findings and recommendations for process improvements and/or policy changes

  • Provides coaching, guidance, and expertise to leaders to address process improvement efforts for the Human Resources organization to implement efficiencies and standardization

  • Stays apprised of labor & employee relations and general human resources laws, regulations, and trends.

  • May serve as subject matter expert on non-HR Compliance related projects.

  • Develops and /or delivers training pertaining to employment law or HR policy compliance, engaging legal and learning partners as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Human Resources, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, Business or equivalent

  • 6 years of experience multi-state, multi-location environment

  • 6 years of experience interpreting, writing, and/or managing policies and procedures, preferably HR related

  • 6 years of experience identifying and /or supporting process improvement initiatives

  • 5 years of project management experience

  • 5 years of experience presenting and facilitating discussions and training on complex concepts and topics

  • 3 years of experience managing others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experienceHR Generalist work experience
