Community Health Systems Certified Medical Assistant- Tall Oaks in Mooresville, North Carolina
Essential Functions
Assists with performing administrative and clinical tasks to keep the practice running smoothly, including:
Updating and filing patient medical records
Filling out insurance forms
Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services
Answering phones, greeting patients, and patient correspondence to include scheduling appointments and contacting patients regarding billing
Performing clinical duties, including:
Taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and explaining treatment procedures to patients
Prepare patients for examinations, assist physicians/mid-level during examinations, and remove sutures and change dressings
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and sometimes perform basic in office, CLIA waived laboratory tests
Arrange examining room instruments and equipment, order and maintain supplies and equipment, and keeping waiting and examination rooms neat and clean
Facilitate same day access for all patients requesting to be treated by provider.
Typically works under the direction of the practice manager.
Education/ Experience
- Two (2) years medical practice experience as a certified/registered Medical Assistant preferred
Licenses/Certifications
Current registered or certified Medical Assistant certification from an accredited agency, required
BLS certification required
