Graybar Human Resources Manager in Moorestown, New Jersey

Purpose:

  • As the Human Resources Manager at Shingle & Gibb, you will partner closely with employees and managers to plan, recommend, and implement various HR programs. You’ll be responsible for implementing policies and procedures throughout our six regional locations.

  • In this role, you will also manage activities relating to staffing, employee education and training, management development, affirmative action, benefits administration, and salary administration.

Typical Functions:

  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to build excitement for the company goals.

  • Leverages Workday and similar systems for benefits management and personnel records, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.

  • Participates in compensation and benefit surveys and/or conducts wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate and remain apprised of current trends.

  • Supports individual development planning and career growth across the company.

  • Writes separation notices for employees separating with cause, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.

  • Hires, trains, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

  • May represent company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.

  • Advises and supports leadership regarding the management of employee relations activities.

  • Regular regional travel will be required – Approximately 15% of each month.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least 3 years of working as an HR generalist or in an employee-facing HR role

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
