Group Summary

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibilities will include to test and development of custom internal programs, testing features, designing and creating test plans, create and develop new programs as new features are requested, improve existing applications and support the MES system and provide documentation of improvement.
Job Security
• Insures the proper operations of the following systems – Manufacturing System, LAN, WLAN, desktop computers, and Shopfloor terminals.
• Provides helpdesk services for all systems within the position’s scope of responsibility.
• Maintain tracks and documents all IT helpdesk incidents and changes.
• Conveys information to management regarding all consequential operational problems.
• Interfaces with vendors for data processing services and products.
• Facilitates employee IS training by researching and scheduling training opportunities.
• Installs Floor-based Manufacturing Systems.
• Supports and troubleshoots all problems associated with the company’s Manufacturing system.
• Performs such other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.
• Comply with Magna, Government and the industry Standards and regulation.

• Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed.
• Ensure adherence to established housekeeping standards.
• Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues.

Minimum Qualifications
• Education/Certification/Licensure: bachelor’s degree in information systems technology, Computer Science, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior experience in Information Systems. Preferably within a manufacturing/automotive background.
• Hands-on experience with various development technologies
• 5+ years’ experience with relational database technologies (e.g., SQL Server)
• Good analytical skills
• Working knowledge of current web technologies (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, XML, AJAX)
• Creative problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Demonstrate proficiency in complex database design and implementations.
• HTML/JavaScript/C# entry programming skills
• Results-oriented, well organized, strong communication and interpersonal skills, multi-tasking, and attentive to details.
• Demonstrate proficiency with operating debugging Frameworks.
• Prior experience in Information systems with a manufacturing/automotive background.
• Demonstrate knowledge at a high level of the MES system.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and well with others.
• Prior experience in Information systems with a manufacturing/automotive background;

• Demonstrate proficiency with operating debugging Frameworks

• Should possess an in-depth knowledge of the majority and a working knowledge of the remainder of the following technical areas:
HARDWARE:
• Supporting and troubleshooting Desktop Personal Computers and Laptops;
• Supporting, Management and troubleshooting of Barcode Printers, Network Printers and document scanners;
• Hand-held devices; bar code scanners, RF tag-readers, card readers;
SOFTWARE
• Basic Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Examples: SAP
• Microsoft SQL
• Operating Systems. Examples: Windows 7, 9, 10.
• Office Automation. Examples: Microsoft Office,
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Experience with MES standards & Templates preferred
• Hands-on experience with shop floor solutions (PLC’s; databases, supervisor PC’s. e.g., ITAC)
• Experience in organizational projects or know-how in organizational / change management is highly welcomed
• Experience in JIT/JIS and Batch manufacturing in automotive would be an advantage
• Experience in Microsoft .Net / Java development would be an advantage
• Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure (Server, Network)
