KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Engagement Management - Large Accounts to join our Finance & Accounting organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial support to premier client advisory partners and managing directors, including setup, maintenance, billing, collections, reporting, and engagement closeout; collaborate with financial analysts and EMCs to monitor key metrics and develop action plans for improvement; serve as the EMC Point of Contact for designated client engagements across multiple service groups, supporting up to two clients

  • Meet with engagement/account teams to review project financials to align fees, ERPs and margins for engagements and ensure teams understand implications and guidelines of such arrangement; notify appropriate service line, operations and finance leads where appropriate

  • Work with members of leadership team to assess requests around client reconciliations around financial data as requested for compliance reporting with client; operate as a business partner to engagement/account team by proactively providing recommendations for improving investment and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders (as needed) through periodic touchpoint in-person or virtually

  • Manage and coordinate reporting needs, working with engagement/account teams to determine the format and frequency of special ad-hoc reporting

  • Contribute to implementation of new initiatives, special projects, and strategies, participating in regular team meetings and workstreams under the Leadership Team

  • Serve as a local subject matter resource in engagement accounting and risk management systems, providing technical support and expertise for engagement management procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of recent experience in project accounting, finance, or billing, preferably within a professional services environment

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent work experience

  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of financial and accounting applications and experience in SAP is preferred

  • Strong time management, planning, analytical, and project skills, with the ability to work on multiple concurrent assignments and be proactive in day-to-day interactions as well as in formulating solutions to problems

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, problem-solving, organizational, analytical and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; able to build productive relationships with peers and leaders

  • Understanding of key performance indicators and business acumen, with the capability to positively influence, mentor, and be a credible source of knowledge to less experienced team members
