Montrose County School District Social Worker in Montrose, Colorado

POSITION: Social Worker

The School Social Worker promotes and enhances the overall academic mission by providing services that strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning. The School Social Worker significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student success and by implementing effective intervention strategies.

DUTIES: Setting up student assistance programs and providing supports for all students Substance abuse prevention services and support Behavioral Health services and support Crisis intervention Encouraging parent participation through contacts and home visits with parents who are overburdened Individual and/or group counseling with students experiencing mental health or social difficulties Navigation of systems and accessing resources for students and their families Collaborating with teachers, administrators, educational support providers, related service providers, school psychologists, general and special educators, school counselors, and various school staff Serve as liaison among district building(s), families and community partners, collaborating with various teams to assure positive outcomes for all learners.

Be familiar with the application of: Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) Behavior Intervention Planning (BIP) Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Masters in an appropriate field of study. Minimum of 3 years working in the social worker field and with children and families preferred. Hold or be eligible to hold a current CDE Special Services Provider license with a School Social Worker endorsement.

WAGE: $58,331 - $85,492 based on the 24/25 salary schedules, experience and education)

SHIFTS: Full-time - 40 hours per week

JOB SITE: Montrose, CO - Districtwide position
