This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.
Please note this is a full-time, temporary position (until December 2025), in Montreal with potential for hybrid working opportunities
Your role
Reporting to the Senior Director, Indigenous Office, the Senior Specialist will play a pivotal role in advancing the National Indigenous Strategy across Radio-Canada as a strategy lead and the wider organization. The successful candidate will work closely with various business units, internal and external stakeholders, and indigenous communities to enhance their representation within the public broadcaster’s workforce and content. This role requires a strategic mindset. It requires a persuasive communicative, collaborative professional, able to lead and manage projects and foster relationships, while ensuring alignment with the goals of the National Indigenous Strategy. This position requires a high level of proficiency in French, as a significant portion of your work will be conducted in this language.
As Senior Specialist, Indigenous Office your responsibilities include:
Strategy Implementation Lead: Implementation of the National Indigenous Strategy by collaborating with internal teams, business units, and external partners.
Project Coordination: Design, manage, and coordinate projects that align with the Objectives and Actions of the National Indigenous Strategy, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and outcomes are met.
Action deployment and oversight: Propose and oversee the deployment of relevant initiatives and commitments in alignment with the National Indigenous Strategy, across Radio-Canada and other areas of the organization.
Budgeting and Reporting: Develop and manage project budgets according to company policies. Prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, strategy implementation, and other relevant areas for leadership and stakeholders.
Measurement: Develop and update relevant indicators for measuring our performance and progress with regard to the National Indigenous Strategy and relevant Indigenous Office programs. Plan evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness and outcomes of initiatives.
Your profile
University degree in a relevant area of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience as an organizational leader.
Strong project management skills.
French is a must, Bilingualism in English and/or an Indigenous language is an asset.
Consistent exercise of good judgment and effective balancing of role expectations to achieve organizational objectives; familiarity with human resources principles and practices is a definite asset.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation and mediation skills.
Collaborative and team-oriented leadership style.
Ability to make appropriate connections and build synergies.
An open and creative approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to refer issues with a collaborative and problem-solving mindset.
Report writing, and documentation skills
Ability to engage with various stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Ability to handle stress and use self-care.
Highly developed organizational and program development skills.
Demonstrated analytical ability.
Ability to use initiative and good judgment in decision-making.
