WSP USA Senior Contracts Administrator (Bilingual) in Montreal, Quebec

WSP is currently seeking an Senior Contract Administrator to join our Supply Chain Management group, located at our Calgary office. Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Management this position may be responsible for Mechanical, Civil, Piling, Instrumentation & Controls Construction contracts, Geotech, Heavy Haul, Utility and other site and construction services contracts. What you can expect to do here:

Clear understanding of Contracting procedures/workflows and how they relate to Client-specific and/or project requirements.

Responsible for tasks varying in nature and urgency, such as:

  • Project contracts list development

  • Sourcing and pre-qualification of contractors for developing project contractors list.

  • Bid / Proposal package preparation including all commercial documentation.

  • Issue Request for Proposal to bidders and receive proposals.

  • Bid / Proposal opening and shortlisting.

  • Bid / Proposal evaluation, Contract formation.

  • Bid/ Proposal Clarification, Negotiation & Recommendation.

  • Issuing Contracts or PReq’s (with approval).

  • Post award administration of contract.

  • Change order management and contractor's adherence to pricing structure and schedule.

  • Ability to manage different types of construction contracts from start to finish.

  • Governance / approval requirements, Risk Assessment.

  • Validation against the plan and budget, Change Management.

  • Managing Claims and back-charges

  • Involvement / review by stakeholders, Executive summaries.

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Manager, Legal team and Responsible Engineer.

  • Work with Team Lead and Manager, Supply Chain to refine the projects contracting needs.

  • Communicate delays and schedule conflicts with Project Team.

  • Collaborate with relevant ‘key working relationships,’ such as Client Supply Chain representatives and contractors, to ensure all activities regarding Contracts have been addressed and covered off.

  • Closeout Contract’s once all contractual and procedural requirements have been met.

  • Manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided (to relevant parties) when schedule conflicts arise.

  • Administer and electronically distribute specified reports to Clients and/or engineering staff members.

  • Expected to work with all levels of the organization in a cohesive manner.

  • May be responsible for complex contracts with the support senior colleagues in the team.

  • May be required to work on equipment packages from a procurement perspective.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • A degree, diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or Contracting and Procurement.

  • Previous experience in an EPCM environment.

  • Training with contracting database and software.

  • Proficiency in using electronic systems for day-to-day tasks.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Efficiency in prioritizing and organizing work.

  • Minimum 8 – 12 years of contracting and procurement experience on major projects.
