Job Description:

As part of TD Insurance, the Data, Analyses, and Insights (DAI) group supports internal business partners by providing valuable insights and analyses.

Within DAI, the Revenue Insights team is a trusted ally to partner such as executive, actuarial corporate, pricing, product, finance, and others. The team combines talent from business intelligence analysts and data specialists to provide business-specific insights and consultative support to help the decision-making and strategic planning. Recognized for investigating emerging trends, the team provides detailed information and in-depth analyses to operational partners to support planning, forecasting and business opportunity.

You will leverage your analytical and programming experience to provide insights and analysis across a multitude of projects and initiatives. Main responsibilities

  • Analyses & Insights: Perform complex portfolio and transaction analyses in an automated manner.

  • Summarize complex information and explain it clearly to be able to communicate results to business unit leaders.

  • Educate business partners and build awareness on how to interpret the data and analytics to drive decision making that will move the business forward.

  • Recommend strategies to improve operations or obtain new customers based on analyses and information.

  • Better understand Digital funnel to optimize sales and servicing.

  • Analyze Customer profile to attract and retain profitable ones.

  • Perform analysis, translating data into information, and answering business questions (hypotheses, testing, data gathering, analysis, story building, and communication to stakeholders).

  • Forecast, trend analysis and performance monitoring

  • Perform statistical analysis on observed trends, explain variances and propose enhancement to forecasting models.

  • Create, maintain, and use models to detect emerging trends to accelerate growth opportunities and achieve business objectives.

  • Develop robust DataMarts to be able to provide Unmatched Insights

  • Extract, Transform and validate data with SQL, Python, R.

  • Develop dashboards using visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, POSIT, etc. and maintain some existing reports.

Profile sought

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in, mathematics, statistics, business intelligence, finance, economic, informatic, business science, actuarial or any other relevant discipline

  • Followed by at least five (5) years of relevant experience:

  • Experience in Analytics, Data Analysis, Statistical Analysis

  • Experience in General Insurance

  • Bilingual (English and French).

  • Strong programming skills (SQL, Python, R).

  • Possesses sound judgement, an analytical mind, and demonstrated decision making capabilities.

  • Highly developed problem-solving and analysis skills with consistent rigor in quality of work.

  • Able to conceptualize technical problems to develop clarity and a global vision.

  • Effective communicator with skills to present, teach, and persuade.

  • Works openly and transparently in collaboration with business partners.

  • Creative in finding new solutions to complex problems.

  • Effective in managing multiple priorities with strong organization and time management skills

  • Effective in a team setting and contributes to team spirit.

  • Quick learner and able to adapt to change.

  • Proficient with PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.

  • General Insurance experience or expertise is an asset.

  • Tableau, POSIT expertise is an asset.

  • Knowledge of statistical forecasting models an asset

  • Demonstrates TD values.
