Job Description:

This role is responsible for managing first level relationships with a focus on the development of skills related to relationship management of HNW clients and performing administrative and support duties as required.

CUSTOMER

  • Understand the Private Wealth Management (PWM) businesses and how Private Banking acts as a key partner within it. Specifically:

  • Types of HNW clients, the nature of their relationships with PWM and their specific needs;

  • Banking products, processes, systems and operations

  • HNW Credit solutions

  • Wealth Management solutions

  • Key Partnerships within PWM and other TD businesses like Retail and Commercial Banking

  • Proactively, in consultation with Market Manager and/or SPB, recommend and implement banking products and solutions (credit & cash management) within the PB relationship management model and delegated authority limit

  • Develop Financial Planning ethic through engagement in client interactions jointly with SPB

  • Identify opportunities to refer to Wealth, Commercial and other parts of TDBG to increase TD's share of wallet

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of PB, TDBG policies and procedures, industry trends and protect the interests and reputation of TDBG and its clients by continuous compliance to them

  • Represent Private Wealth Management and TDBG to the general public in a professional manner

  • Under the direction of the Market Manager (MM), and with support from the Senior Private Bankers (SPB), develop their Private Banking and Credit product and solution knowledge in order to provide a TD branded legendary client experience.

  • Work closely with key partners in Private Wealth Management, HNW Direct Investing and the broader TD organization to provide clients with integrated HNW solutions.

SHAREHOLDER

  • Develop high touch relationship management skills and provide excellent client experience

  • Complete financial transactions of increasing complexity (deposit, credit and Banking transactions).

  • Analyse credit requests and underwriting by ensuring adjudication in accordance with assigned discretionary limits and established guidelines.

  • Maximize business opportunities and profitability by consistently applying Private Banking fees and pricing.

  • Ensure adherence to operating standards and processes – perform quality checks and validation of work

  • Prioritize and manage own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity

  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate

  • Contribute to the achievement of business objectives by proactively attracting, acquiring and retaining customers / sales opportunities and referrals, to increase profitability and enable business growth

  • Promote and offer full suite of products, sales, services and banking capabilities

  • Contribute to business objectives for Operational Excellence

  • Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures

  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary

  • Ensure documentation that is prepared / completed is accurate and properly reflects client / business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules / regulations

  • Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions / activities

  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • Assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct

BREADTH & DEPTH:

  • Acts as a product/services knowledge resource for colleagues in their own area of specialty

  • Requires advanced understanding of a range of product and services, processes, procedures and systems to provide customers with options and advice on complex transactions and product features

  • Required advanced understanding of concepts within their own area of specialty and integration points with related areas

  • Advanced knowledge of business drivers, and customers to coordinate with other related areas to improve efficiency and deliver results

  • Conduct analysis of credit and ability to underwrite credit

  • General knowledge across Wealth products and solutions with an understanding of all credit, cash management, investments and specifically credit.

  • Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn banking and risk, operations and related procedures.

  • Build and maintain ongoing positive relationships with clients.

  • Analyse client information and making the appropriate recommendation based on needs.

  • Develop financial planning knowledge and recommendations with banking solutions implementation in mind

  • Works collaboratively with Partners in Private Wealth, Wealth and TD

  • Conscientious with a proven passion for creating excellent client experience at every opportunity

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate Degree

  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC)
