Job Description:

GI Pricing oversees the overall pricing strategy of general insurance products that aligns with TD Insurance's business objectives in compliance with jurisdictional premium regulations. Pricing is a determining component of our home and auto insurance products that cater to direct and affinity markets.

Reporting to the Actuarial Senior Manager, Pricing Initiatives, AMG & Governance, the Actuarial Specialist, Pricing Initiatives, AMG & Governance plays a leadership role in:

  • Participate in Canada-wide pricing rate change or product change initiatives to improve profitability of our auto and home products.

  • Support management team by performing various pricing-related analyses

  • Contribute to GI profitable growth by leading AMG insight and strategy within GI Regional Pricing and Product strategy.

  • Support the monitoring of Affinity groups profitability, including leveraging models, to embed this information into pricing and AMG renewal decisions.

  • Support Request for Proposal submissions in collaboration with AMG.

  • Influence TDI's Risk Sharing Pool (RSP) strategy to maximize profits from cession.

  • Continuous oversight on Pricing Governance and controls.

  • Manage regulatory requests and ensure Pricing abides by regulations for all regions and products.

  • Support the multiple audits (Internal, SOX, FSRA, OSFI, FA, Compliance, and many more).

  • Gain a deep understanding of the various Pricing functions and propose improvements to increase efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • At least 7 years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty

  • Bachelor degree in Actuarial Sciences or related field

  • FCIA near completion or at least seven Casualty Actuarial Society professional exams (preferred)

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel

  • Proficiency and interest for programming, notably SAS, VBA, R, Python

  • Advanced analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills

  • Client-focused and aptitude for teamwork with solid organizational and communications skills

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Autonomous and perseverant; shows initiative and creativity in their work

  • Recognized for their thoroughness and the quality of their work
