Bell TV’s Content team is seeking a strategic and analytical Director, Content Acquisition to lead its efforts in sourcing, negotiating, and packaging television content for Bell TV and its digital platforms. Reporting to the Vice President of Distribution, Subscription Sales, and Partnerships, you will lead a team of 15 professionals and shape Bell's content strategy while delivering on key financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 15 content professionals, overseeing:
Negotiating content rights with external partners.
Financial analysis, forecasting, and cost management.
Contract administration and rights management.
TV packaging strategy and execution.
Drive delivery of financial goals by optimizing content acquisition and strategy.
Partner effectively with internal stakeholders (regulatory, legal, product, marketing, finance, IT, and operations) to deliver both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives.
Cultivate and manage strong external relationships with content providers, ensuring competitive terms and access to top-tier content.
Monitor market trends, industry shifts, and business analytics to inform strategic decision-making and communicate key insights to senior leadership.
Critical Qualifications
University degree in Business or related field; MBA is an asset.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with prior content acquisition expertise preferred.
Strategic thinking and negotiation skills combined with the ability to simplify complex situations.
Strong financial analytics expertise with a history of managing large budgets.
Proven ability to establish and nurture external partnerships while building internal cross-functional alignment.
Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.
Results-driven mindset with the ability to meet objectives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Superior communication and presentation skills to summarize market trends and financials for executive leadership.
Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
