Overview
The Motor Vehicle Section Chief will oversee three separate and unique units comprised of The Information Call Center, Driver Improvement, and E-Services units.
The Section Chief will be responsible for all daily activities of the units, including the direct supervisors of each unit, helping to strategize to ensure meeting the operating requirements while supporting and monitoring internal processes and controls.
The need to analyze workflow, identify issues, and implement workable solutions is vital in this role. Additionally, the Section Chief must be able to develop effective working relationships with staff, external customers, and vendors, and have the ability to initiate and maintain statistics of work. The position must reference and guide by Title 23, and will provide/develop necessary training, guidance, motivation, and support to the team.
Environmental Factors
Duties are primarily performed in an office setting. Stress may be encountered when dealing with upset or irate customers in person or over the phone. Incumbent must be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
