Overview
Result\'s Oriented Program Approval (ROPA) is a performance-based approach to the review of educator preparation programs in Vermont. All programs that wish to recommend educators for licensure in Vermont must seek approval through this state program or an approved national alternative. The Vermont Standards Board for Professional Educators oversees the ROPA approval process and determines approval status.
\ The ROPA Coordinator is a member of the Pre-service Team within the Educator Quality Division at the Agency of Education (AOE) with responsibilities for the review, evaluation and report of findings of Vermont educator preparation programs. Additional responsibilities include processing of transcript review applications and supporting multiple licensing processes during peak time.
\ This position is fully remote with a requirement to be in the office one day a month. In addition, frequent in-state travel and overnight trips are required, with opportunities for occasional out-of-state travel.
Environmental Factors
Normal office working conditions generally prevail. Incumbent must be able to interact, work, and deal with department staff, educators, state, federal, and local officials, and the general public. Evening and weekend work may be required. Considerable travel is necessary for which an incumbent must possess private means of transportation.
