Ministry Support (Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries) Family Life Services Counselor in Montoursville, Pennsylvania
Category/Shift/Hours per 2 week pay period: Full-Time / Day Shift / 75 hours per pay period
Diakon Family Life Services offers a range of counseling and behavioral health services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, New Bloomfield, Lewisburg, Montoursville and Williamsport as well as within several public-school buildings. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addictions counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors.
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing clinical services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Coordinates case management on all assigned cases.
- Conducts individual, couple, family, and/or group therapy sessions.
- Childline and DHS FBI clearance results are required prior to beginning employment.
Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Program-need covid vaccine card or file for an exemption.
Education/Training: A bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, sociology or a related field of study required.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' supervised clinical experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
ADA: Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
