Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Montgomery, Texas

Description

A client of ours is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contract Accounting Clerk to manage both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions for our client. This position will be based in Montgomery, Texas, with a hybrid work schedule that offers flexibility to work from home part of the week. The ideal candidate will have prior experience using SAP and possess strong organizational and communication skills. This role requires an individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and has a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Process and manage invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.

  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and address inquiries.

  • Perform timely payment processing, ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate AP records.

  • Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Process and record customer payments in a timely manner.

  • Follow up on overdue accounts and manage collections in coordination with management.

  • Reconcile AR accounts and resolve discrepancies with customers.

  • Prepare and send customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • SAP System Usage:

  • Utilize SAP for the entry, processing, and tracking of both AP and AR transactions.

  • Generate and review reports in SAP to ensure financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Work with internal teams to streamline processes and resolve any system-related issues.

  • General Accounting Support:

  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to AP and AR.

  • Maintain accurate records and support audits as required.

  • Assist with other accounting duties and ad-hoc projects as needed.

    Requirements

Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable.

Strong working knowledge of SAP accounting software.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

Prior experience in a contract role or temporary position preferred.
