National Institutes of Health Supply Technician in Montgomery County, Maryland
Summary These Supply Technician positions will be located in the Division of Logistics Services (DLS), Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations (OLAO), Office of Acquisition and Logistics Management (OALM), Office of Management (OM), Office of the Director (OD), NIH. The DLS Mission manages all aspects of supply chain management, property administration, and transportation management programs that is transparent, responsive and efficient. Responsibilities Maintains an online inventory of supplies and is fully responsible for determining minimum stock levels. Reviews requisitions and revises quantities ordered based on the number of items on hand, and orders substitutions when items are not available. Receives, verifies, and signs shipping documents for all merchandise acquired and is responsible for verifying the quantity and condition of merchandise ordered against purchase documents. Investigates and reconciles discrepancies relating to actions such as receipt control, stock control, and inventory adjustments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You qualify at the GS-05 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in performing inventory functions; assisting in checking shipping supplies; compiling data to include in reports; and assisting in responding to customer inquiries. OR Completion of 4 years of education above high school. OR A combination of education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. You qualify at the GS-06 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: performing routine inventory management functions; maintaining adequate supplies and forms to support an organization; entering shipping data into a database system; and responding to customer inquiries. You qualify at the GS-07 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: ensuring supply operations comply with supply policies and regulations; monitoring and maintaining adequate supplies to support an organization; processing and storing shipping materials; using online reporting systems to maintain and track inventory; and communicating information related to supply to customers.
