Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Montgomery, Alabama
Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper in Montgomery, Alabama. We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions for clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with accounting software, payroll processing, tax filings, and bookkeeping responsibilities. The Bookkeeper will work closely with senior accountants and clients to ensure accuracy, compliance, and smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records for clients using QuickBooks (required).
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledgers.
Process accounts payable and receivable.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Handle payroll processing, including detailed calculations and reporting (experience in payroll is required).
Assist in the preparation and filing of 1099s and W2s.
Manage and track sales tax filings, particularly for clients in industries such as grocery stores (sales tax knowledge is a plus).
Ensure all client records and financial activities comply with tax regulations and accounting standards.
Provide support during internal audits and help prepare for external audits.
Collaborate with senior accountants on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Address client inquiries and concerns regarding financial records, billing, and payments.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with QuickBooks software
• Knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll process
• Capability to Post Journal Entries
• Expertise in conducting Bank Reconciliations
• Experience with Monthly Bank Reconciliation
• Familiarity with Sales Tax procedures
• Understanding of Payroll Taxes
• Proven experience in Bookkeeping
• Ability to manage all Bookkeeping Functions
• Prior experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper
• Proficiency in Full Charge Bookkeeping tasks
