Job Summary:
The Monterrey Powertrain Engineering Liaison role is responsible for driving quality improvements by implementing and enforcing best practice assembly and auditing/testing procedures for all powertrains assembled in Monterrey. Qualified candidate should be able to lead root cause investigations, determine appropriate containment plans, and effectively communicate with stake holders across the business units. Position is located at the Monterrey, Mexico engine assembly plants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and support general quality, warranty, and field support related activities. Manage from initial root cause analysis through resolution and implementation.
Track systemic issues and drive proactive quality and warranty improvements into new development projects / programs.
Work with subject matter experts to assure quality lessons learned are captured, documented, and incorporated into their specifications and validation plans.
Provide engineering guidance to manufacturing and quality organizations for production and supplier related issues.
Interpret component measurements, test results, and gage studies to understand if parts and process are meeting design intent.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Required-B.S.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent
2+ years of related design and/or quality experience in an O.E. Environment
2+ years of significant component manufacturing and application experience a plus
Experience with one or more of the following: Powertrain Design Categories: Engine Architecture, Power Cylinder, Cranktrain, Cylinder Head, Crankcases, Valvetrain, Intake and Exhaust Systems, Fuel Systems, Lubrication System, Starting and Charging Systems, Transmissions and Gears, Bolted Joint Analysis, Performance Development as related to engine design.
Experience in design related processes such as: GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced problem-solving skills and aptitude for striking a balance between application of academic theory and engineering judgment
High level of people skills, able to work in global team environment
Microsoft software including Excel, Project, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to multitask, managing multiple projects simultaneously
WORKING CONDITIONS
Fast-paced and collaborative office and plant environment
Travel to Wyoming, MN as needed (Typically less than 10%)
