Xylem Supply Chain Planning Manager (m/f/d) in Montecchio Maggiore, Italy

We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Planning Manager (m/f/d) who is responsible for managing the overall supply chain activities within the organization. This role involves leading a team of supply chain professionals, developing and implementing supply chain procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Supply Chain Planning Manager (m/f/d) conducts regular audits, reviews supply chain data and collaborates with other departments to address supply chain issues and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include managing supply chain documentation, providing training and development opportunities for staff, and reporting on supply chain performance to senior management.

Location: Schaffhausen (Switzerland), but other Xylem locations in Europe are also optional (Germany, France, Italy, Sweden)

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Strategy and Planning:

• Create and implement a long-term supply chain strategy aligned with company goals

• Develop short-term plans and forecasts to meet immediate and future supply chain needs

• Monitor and analyze market trends and adjust supply chain strategy accordingly

• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to plan for product launches and promotions

• Optimize supply chain processes to meet changing customer demands

Supplier Management:

• Identify and onboard new suppliers to diversify and strengthen the supply chain network

• Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement

• Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality

• Manage and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and reliable product delivery

• Monitor supplier compliance with company standards and address any issues or concerns

Inventory Management:

• Develop and implement inventory management strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs

• Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained

• Collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate inventory replenishment

• Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems to monitor product movement and minimize losses

• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory data

Team Management:

• Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance

• Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively

• Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field

  • At least 5 years’ experience, with at least 1 year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts

  • In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

  • Experience with developing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and systems
