Pool Supervisor

SUMMARY

The Pool Supervisor will have oversight of pool operations. This position aims to ensure the pool facilities and Associates provide a memorable and exceptional guest experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job duties include; although are not limited to:

  • Working with the Director of Outdoors Pursuit to create vibrant pool programming that is both well received and well attended.

  • Frequently evaluating the service and guest interaction to ensure the guest experience is of a consistently high quality.

  • Evaluates existing situations and makes decisions concerning hazardous weather conditions, which may arise ensuring that the pool is properly staffed at all times.

  • Creating and maintaining good relationships with guests.

  • Overseeing and controlling the flow of the pool area by assisting with guest seating and facilitating the placing of food and beverage orders.

  • Makes routine checks of the pool area to ensure appropriate behavior is being displayed by Associates and guests.

  • Assigning and supervising all opening and/or closing side duties.

  • Conducting pre-shift meetings on a daily basis.

  • Participating in the ongoing training of Associates to ensure that they continue to improve their performance.

  • Controlling distribution of necessary supplies and ensuring supplies are kept in good order.

  • Actively facilitating the timely and frequent communication of all programming to increase guest awareness of scheduled pool event or activities.

  • Evaluating systems and standard operating procedures to ensure that daily accounting, payroll, and operating functions are well executed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school or equivalent education required.

  • One to two years’ experience in supervisory or management position.

  • Previous experience in lifesaving, swim instruction or advanced swimming is required and significant knowledge and experience in pool management operations is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.

  • Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.

  • Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages operation.

Special Requirements:

Possession of a Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR-PR Certificates as issued by the Red Cross.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of pool maintenance and operations.

  • Knowledge of safe aquatic environments.

  • Ability to perform First Aid.

  • Ability to perform all the physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations.

  • Ability to train, supervise and evaluate Associates.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most work tasks are performed outdoors. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. occasionally. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
