Description We are searching for a meticulous and experienced Sr. Cost Accountant to join our team in Monrovia, California. The role will involve comprehensive cost accounting activities related to manufacturing and service operations. This includes analyzing, reconciling, and controlling inventory, cost of sales, and product line margins. The position also focuses on the continuous improvement of product profitability and new product development.

Responsibilities:

• Performance of monthly cost accounting with a focus on accurate and timely submission of financial statements.

• Undertaking all cost accounting tasks including product line margin analysis, inventory control and valuation analysis, variance analysis, and variance accrual.

• Updating overhead rates annually using ABC system to analyze labor, material, and allocation of overhead costs by product line.

• Reviewing purchase price variance and other variances, updating new standards as needed.

• Providing reporting and analysis for all manufacturing and service activities including actual to budget system cost tracking, product line margin report, field service report, etc.

• Extracting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting data in a manner that aids business decisions using ERP and other reporting systems.

• Collaborating effectively with colleagues from all departments including sales, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and IT.

• Leading and executing process improvement and system implementation/upgrade projects.

• Preparing audit schedules and supporting documents and analysis for external auditors.

• Managing Fixed Assets including monthly reconciliation and reporting as well as coordinating annual Fixed Assets Inventory.

• Completing month-end parent company reporting package for Inventory, COS, and Fixed Assets. Requirements

• Hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of cost accounting

• Possess expertise in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, and Standard Cost Accounting

• Have working proficiency in JD Edwards software

• Proficient in Ad Hoc Reporting and its associated techniques

• Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel for data management and accounting tasks

• Display a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and their application in a business environment

• Proven ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions based on data

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with various departments
