Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in the food production industry. As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet and exceed industry standards for safety, quality, and consistency. You will be responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting audits, handling regulatory and certification activities related to the products produced at the site, and providing guidance to our production teams. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with government regulations (FDA, EPA, etc.), customer requirements and necessary certification bodies (i.e. SGS-FSSC 22000)
Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, GFSI)
Conduct regular audits of production processes, procedures, and facilities to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality control measures and monitor their effectiveness.
Analyzes current systems and processes and develops recommendations for process improvements, waste reduction, and increased efficiencies.
T rain and educate employees on quality assurance processes, procedures, and techniques.
Ensure development of direct reports to ensure stability and growth of the department.
Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Conduct product inspections, sampling, and testing to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure the quality of incoming materials and ingredients.
Lead customer, regulatory and certification audits.
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in food science, quality assurance, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in management of quality control & quality assurance programs for food manufacturing environment (preferably in dairy)
Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control principles
Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership and communication abilities
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Certification in food safety and quality control (e.g., HACCP, SQF) is preferred.
Proficient in using computer software and applications related to quality assurance.
