Wage Range: $41.67 - $77.12 per hour. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation, such as shift differentials and premiums may be available for this role. EvergreenHealth Monroe, a small semi-rural acute care hospital has a fantastic opportunity for an ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Registered Nurse to fill a position in our Medical Surgical Telemetry, staffed with 24/7 board-certified Internal Medicine Hospitalists. JOB SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Adheres to Hospital Policies and Procedures and Philosophy of Care. Consistently exhibits professional conduct that is a behavior-based expression of the hospital’s Standards of Excellence. Assesses plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates individualized, professional patient care to pediatric through geriatric patients within the medical-surgical telemetry unit (MSTU). Pro­vides nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, and the state Nurse Practice Act. Participates in patient teach­ing and discharge planning. Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and critical thinking ability required to function on the unit and to respond to rapidly changing patient needs. Uses an understanding of the prin­ciples of growth and develop­ment to as­sess each patient's age-specific needs and pro­vide age-specific appropriate treat­ment and care. Participates in unit and hospital Perfor­mance Im­provement activ­ities. Assumes Charge Nurse Role as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, and current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license. Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire date. Must obtain NIHSS Stroke Certification within 90 days of hire date.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to think critically and use the nursing process. Ability to actively involve the patient and family members in decision making which affects the patient’s outcome. Ability to initiate, revise, contribute to and participate in the implementation of the interdisciplinary patient plan of care. Ability to organize and prioritize patient assignments and unit activities. Ability to document standards for specific pediatric through geriatric patient populations. Competent in all identified department-specific orientation and annual competencies. IV therapy skills and medication management appropriate to patient age and hospital policy. Ability to safely use equipment specific to the MSTU work environment and patient populations including all 0 lift devices. Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills with multidisciplinary team members, ancillary departments and clinical areas, physicians, patients, and family members. Able to adhere to dress codes specific to personal hygiene, fingernail care, dress, piercing, tattoos, and fragrances.

Use of personal protective equipment as appropriate, documentation of immunization/immunity against hepatitis B, and training related to blood-borne pathogens are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:

Adheres to all State and Federal regulations pertaining to hazardous materials. Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous substances, and risk of physical injury from lifting patients and operation of equipment.

WORK CONTACT GROUP: All hospital staff, patients, families, vis­itors, medical staff, and the public.

SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and transfer and transport patients. Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull. Walks and stands for most of the working day. Must possess visual, tactile, and manual dexterity.
