* This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and/or relocation assistance (consideration for relocation determined on an individual basis) up to $20,000 for candidates new to EvergreenHealth Monroe with current Certified Hand Therapist certification, or up to $10,000 for candidates without Certified Hand Therapist certification. Bonus and relocation are pro-rated by FTE, applicable education, and relevant experience. Wage Range: $40.62 - $61.33 per hour. The amounts listed are the base pay range. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, applicable education and internal equity.

JOB SUMMARY:
EvergreenHealth Monroe is seeking a motivated Hand Therapist to join our growing Outpatient Therapy Team. We are in the EvergreenHealth Pavilion just south of the main hospital in Monroe. This is a fast-paced practice that requires flexibility, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and quick critical thinking skills.
Our hand therapy team works in close communication with the referring hand and orthopedic surgeons. Typical conditions treated include but are not limited to tendon and ligament injuries, fractures, peripheral nerve injuries, repetitive strain injuries, arthritis, Dupuytren’s contracture. Services provided include post-operative management of upper extremity, custom splinting, joint mobilization, manual therapy, edema management, modalities, taping techniques, wound care, scar management, range of motion and strengthening exercises.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
Minimum 2 years of experience in the treatment of hand and upper extremity conditions, current WA State Occupational Therapist (OT) license active and in good standing with State of Washington Department of Health, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by date of hire, certification as a Hand Therapist/or eligible, Baccalaureate, Master's Degree, or certificate in Occupational Therapy. May consider training a candidate who has previous clinical rotation experience in hand therapy.
Essential Functions:
Provides skilled hand therapy services, including evaluation and treatment in a timely fashion in accordance with the treatment plan established with, approved, and ordered by the referring physician.
Develops effective treatment techniques using established practice techniques, including analysis, application and adaptation of functional activities for use with patients having a variety of physical disorder.
Maintains accurate records and prepares evaluation, progress, discharge and summary reports in a timely manner within insurance, Medicare, or managed care guidelines.
Complies with all state and federal patient care regulations.
Consults with the interdisciplinary team to ensure consistency and quality in patient programming, when appropriate.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Treats all patients, families and staff with dignity.
Remains current on techniques of practice through continuing education.
Effectively participates in the referral development process.
Remains accessible to access referral in a timely fashion.
Communicates effectively with families and agencies, portraying a positive image.
Completes unit-based competencies per regulatory, departmental, and hospital standards.
Utilizes feedback regarding performance and supervision to improve performance.
Maintains requirements for hand therapy certification.
Fabricates custom or applies commercial splints appropriately for given treatment.
