We are currently looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee two of our plants Monroe, North Carolina. Our EHS organization is at the forefront of a strategic transformation, and your role as an EHS Manager will be pivotal in advancing our commitment to excellence in EHS practices.

As we continue to elevate our EHS strategy to world-class standards, your role will encompass conducting thorough risk assessments, including job hazard analysis and evaluations of new equipment introductions. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying potential safety risks and recommending effective mitigation strategies, encompassing ergonomics and beyond. Moreover, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring continuous improvement by conducting meticulous audits, providing valuable insights to management on compliance issues and safety enhancements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as EHS representative with all plant/managers and directors within operating group for communication of specific plant and organizational EHS issues and strategies.

  • Serve as an active leader in the review of safety investigations.

  • Participate and engage with all levels of the workforce to incorporate EHS into the design, set up, and operation of the facility.

  • Research, propose and implement improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, and efficiency, reduce costs and meet performance goals.

  • Serve as a technical resource to operations regarding all safety and environmental affairs.

  • Develop and communicate safety and environmental metrics to operations.

  • Oversee environmental permitting compliance within responsible group.

  • Ensure past corrective actions are complete and develop extensive preventative actions for incident avoidance.

  • Train supervision in proper incident investigative techniques and develop methodology for comprehensive corrective actions.

  • May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, safety and/or environmental preferred

  • In lieu of a Bachelors Degree, at least six (6) years of EHS experience with a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • At least two (2) years of experience leading and managing an EHS team

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)

  • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 1910 General Industry 10-30-hour

  • Oracle and Maximo experience.

  • Experience in analyzing accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses

  • Experienced in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificates

  • Experience in Worker’s Compensation case management

Ability to:

Knowledge of:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at a minimum) required to accomplish day-to-day work activities and willingness to learn additional programs.

  • Sufficient knowledge of company, products, objectives, and operations.

  • Exceptional analytical, judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, and customer focus skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
