We are looking for a dynamic High Energy and High Impact Project Manager - Special Orders to join our team at our Manufacturing Operations Headquarters located in Monroe, MI. The BSO Manager plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our company's internal supply chain and distribution network. Backyard Products provides nearly 30,000 last mile Big and Bulky residential deliveries annually. This role will be responsible for ensuring on time deliveries aligning with our #1 Habit of Customer's First. This role is responsible for streamlining Backyard Products fulfillment as an industry leader in a positive customer experience.

Job Summary: The Project Manager - Special Orders is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the movement of goods through the supply chain from a customer order to our national branch network then to the final mile delivery for the customer. The primary responsibility is to ensure that products are delivered ahead of schedule resulting in a positive customer experience. You will work closely with our production, traffic, shipping, and branch teams to coordinate and ensure lead-times are met. You will also work with our National Sales account team in preparing for upcoming promotions to make sure product can meet our expected demands. In this role you will work closely with our Sales and Customer Service Teams to monitor our retail partner portals to assist with improving our focus on communication with our partners. They will also coordinate and work with our internal branch network to review and ensure we are maintaining our scheduled delivery dates without delay. This position is a metric driven role and daily, weekly, monthly KPI's will play an important role in this job.
Key Responsibilities: (Other duties as assigned)
Measure the flow of our product from our manufacturing plant production to the transportation of goods to our company owned warehouses, then to the customer.
Partner with our sales team to ensure production and shipping aligns with national promotions, while forward positioning inventory.
Track delivery dates and lead-times to ensure we are maintaining delivery dates without delays/reschedules.
Track key milestones in the transportation chain, maximum 5 days from order to ship, 1 to 11 day transit time to warehouse, and 5 day final mile delivery goals.
Maintain and publish KPI's through Daily Lean Daily Management and daily startup meetings
Assist the sales team by supporting them-assisting and monitoring our retail partner portals.
Work closely with internal teams, including purchasing, sales, and customer service, to coordinate logistics activities and meet customer requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in the logistics operations.
Prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on time delivery dates, line haul cost per unit, final mile delivery rates.
