Robert Half Staff Accountant in Moncks Corner, South Carolina

Description We are in the process of hiring a Staff Accountant for our operations located in Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves assisting management with all processes related to payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This includes providing back up support to Payroll Administrator and effectively working with the software 'Costpoint - Deltek' and managing 'Government Contracts'.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in cash management by voiding checks in the system, issuing stop payments as needed, and scanning necessary documents.

• Handling vendor payments by reviewing and signing all vendor checks and following up on all emails regarding vendor payments.

• Responsible for reviewing and posting all vouchers for payment.

• Taking charge of accounts payable credit card posting by reviewing and posting all credit card statements.

• Posting Auto Drafts and Manual Checks under additional accounts payable posting.

• Reconciling vendor statements to the system as they arrive to ensure we have received or paid all invoices. Contacting vendors for any missing invoices and promptly sending them to project managers for quick approval.

• Completing reversals, debits, and credits for corrections as needed.

• Ensuring Vendor W-9/1099 Info is maintained properly. Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficient in Costpoint - Deltek is a requirement for this role.

• Experience in dealing with Government Contracts is necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a preferred qualification.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Must have strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, is needed.

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation is a bonus.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Familiarity with accounting software is beneficial.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
