Job Title: Process and Instrumentation Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Process and Instrumentation Technician with at least five years of experience as an industrial electrician or controls technician. The ideal candidate will perform planned maintenance on computers, microprocessors, PLC-based equipment, and their remote hardware and interface equipment. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, inspections, modifications, and responding to breakdowns and trouble calls. The technician will also maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant programmable controllers, Human Machine Interfaces, Drives, and Computers, making program changes when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance on assigned computers, microprocessors, and PLC-based equipment.

• Conduct preventative maintenance, inspections, and modifications on equipment.

• Respond to breakdowns and trouble calls, and coordinate with supervision and planning for downtime scheduling.

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant programmable controllers, Human Machine Interfaces, Drives, and Computers.

• Read and interpret ladder logic, VSD, RS Logic, and Siemens.

• Make program changes to PLCs as needed.

Essential Skills

• Five years of experience as an industrial electrician or controls technician.

• Experience troubleshooting and making edits/modifications to PLCs.

• Ability to read ladder logic, VSD, RS Logic, and Siemens.

• Experience with CMMS.

• Experience troubleshooting Siemens PLCs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in a heavy industrial environment.

• Previous experience in Navy (nuclear), foundry, paper mill, or aluminum industries.

Work Environment

This role is set in a very heavy industrial environment that is dirty and non-climate controlled. Some areas can be extremely hot due to equipment running and outdoor climate. Our culture is family-oriented, with everyone willing to help each other out. Mechanics often partner with Electricians to solve issues. Our maintenance team currently has 86 members, with a goal headcount of 106. The dress code includes steel toes, a hardhat, safety glasses, ear plugs, and any additional PPE depending on the department. The shift is Monday-Friday from 6:30am-2:30pm, with eventual on-call and rotating weekends.

This is a Permanent position based out of Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $92000.00/yr.
