Position Overview:

Ensures the consistent management of physician/provider contracts including oversight of the contract management process, development of specific standards, contract negotiations and document management. Provides contract administration oversight for managed care provider network. The manager's role in the contract development process requires close collaboration with various departments, including clinical operations, project management, account management, business operations and finance.

Job Description :

This role will support the Central Valley Division. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in referral source contracting (direct hospital-physician contracting)

EDUCATION:

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's: Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Health Administration or closely related field.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of the structure of health care plan products including HMOs and Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) as well as Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) laws and regulations.

  • Working knowledge of health care contract terminology, provisions, and various reimbursement methodologies including managed care risk contracting

  • Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.

  • Verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow.

  • Negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on-one and group situations.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple complex projects within established time parameters.

  • Problem solving and analysis to include financial, business, and contract language terms.

Pay Range is $48.72 to $73.08 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
