Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Model City, New York

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Model City, New York. The role primarily involves supporting our finance team with various accounting and administrative tasks. This position is set in an office environment and is crucial for ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Verifying, classifying, and recording financial transactions related to accounts payable and receivable

• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports including balance sheets and income statements

• Reconciling bank statements and ensuring accurate recording of all transactions

• Maintaining and updating accounting records and files

• Processing invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents

• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Providing support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports

• Communicating with vendors and clients regarding billing and payment inquiries

• Assisting with payroll processing as needed

• Performing administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and handling correspondence. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and procedures

• Experience with billing and invoice processing

• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for accounting tasks

• Familiarity with Ansible Tower software

• Basic computer literacy skills for daily tasks and communication

• Comprehensive understanding of general accounting functions

• Experience with filing systems and organization

• Ability to manage daily mail tasks efficiently

• Experience with direct mail campaigns and related activities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
