United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile Preschool Teacher (OJT) in Mobile, Alabama

The purpose of a Preschool Teacher is to implement all facets of the Mobile County Public School Early ChildhoodSpecial Education Unit at UCP of Mobile.

  • Instruction Instruct Mobile County Public School Early Childhood Special Education Unit, oversee educational activities, maintain classroom attendance records and keep service records up to date, develop and implement daily lesson plans, evaluate children (as needed), maintain a clean, safe, and educationally-appropriate environment for preschool children
  • Educational Programming Provide educational programming appropriate for children's age and ability, develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs), implement IEP updates (as needed), utilize objectives from IEPs to plan individual and group activities, adapt materials and equipment to meet individual needs of each child, incorporate appropriate individual handling/positioning techniques during classroom activity, transition children into appropriate school setting, collaborate with therapists, MCPSS, parents, classroom staff and other agencies involved in meeting the educational needs of each child, coordinate and monitor daily Teacher's Assistant activities, coordinate inclusionary focus with children, maintain center records and files, plan accompany groups on field trips, utilize team-teaching approach and work cooperatively with component staff to provide complete services for each child
  • Children's Trust Fund / Project Aware Assist Preschool Supervisor with Children's Trust Fund / Project Aware activities, including Family Involvement events, plan and implement school-based activities/curriculum, distribute information to Preschool parents, assist in conducting home visits (when necessary), assist in data collection for CTF reports
  • Fundraising Assist with fundraising efforts.
  • Safety All UCP of Mobile employees must know and follow job safety procedures, attend required health and safety training, proactively promote safety at work, and promptly report actual and potential accidents and injuries.
