Actalent GPR Technician in Mobile, Alabama

Job Title: GPR TechnicianJob Description

Utilize Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Radio Frequency (RF) and other equipment to perform subsurface surveys of sites. Evaluate and interpret data gathered from GPR and RF equipment. Record data gathered from GPR and RF equipment in the field. Develop field sketches, redline drawings, and other records of survey results. Interact with clients and contractors in a professional and ethical manner. Ensure that company-owned equipment is maintained in good working order for use on projects and assignments. Ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are implemented on all work assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Travel throughout the company’s service region, and beyond, for extended periods, as needed.

  • Establish and maintain a daily diary of all field activities for each project.

  • Submit daily reports and other documentation to the Team Manager as required by project specifications and/or applicable criteria.

  • Perform all tasks assigned in a professional and ethical manner and according to company policies and procedures.

  • Report to the Team Manager corrective actions (when necessary) to best ensure that the quality of work is maintained and meets company standards.

  • Follow all written procedures for work being performed.

  • Proactively review all project documents and construction and/or historical drawings, and exhibit comprehension for the technical requirements and procedures necessary to perform the assigned work.

  • Prepare reports and perform field activities in a timely manner.

  • Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and training programs to further enhance technical capabilities.

  • Ensure on-time and regular attendance.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Twelve (12) months of experience in GPR and RF surveying.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with construction and industrial environments.

  • Proficiency with GPR, RF scanning, GSSI, and Leica equipment.

Work Environment

This position requires extensive travel throughout the company’s service region and beyond. Work is performed outdoors and involves customer-facing interactions. The role offers the opportunity to start at the ground level and advance to lead and project management positions based on growth and career path goals. Regular attendance and participation in safety meetings and training programs are required to enhance technical capabilities.
