Position Summary The Director of Patient Financial Services provides overall leadership and direction for all patient billing functions including but not limited to insurance follow up, customer service, payment posting and reconciliation, credit balance resolution, denial management, claim submission and other miscellaneous functions. Provides direction and support to staff; promotes staff development; and aligns resources with organizational needs. Supports the success of a high-performing business office by helping to champion and drive long term success; achieve results comparable to national best practices; and make strategic decisions guided by organizational goals and industry trends. This position will be onsite for project work one week per month for project work. License/Certification/Registration required? No Education: *Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Finance, Business Administration or related field required *Master's degree preferred Experience: *7-10 years of patient billing experience in a hospital setting with ambulatory clinics or a large multi-specialty practice *10+ years of progressive management experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Demonstrated knowledge of third-party payer requirements, Medicare/Medicaid regulations and HIPAA regulations *Demonstrated knowledge of patient billing systems, electronic health records and revenue cycle vendors *Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant healthcare policies and practices *Demonstrated project management skills including managing multiple projects in a timely and efficient manner *Demonstrated business communication skills including communicating well with patients, written, facilitating, interpersonal and professionalism at all employee and management levels; Receiving, disseminating information effectively and appropriately *Demonstrated abilities in utilizing Lean/project management protocols for efficient workflows *Demonstrated analytical skills, problem solving abilities, strong organization and decision-making abilities with data, people and situations *Demonstrated skills and proficiencies of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project or other spreadsheet and/or word processing software *Works independently with strong follow-up skills to ensure effective and efficient completion of tasks Physical Demands Please click here to view the Physical Demands The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
