Duties include:Remove old roofing materials Clean work areas and equipment Sweep and clean roofs to prepare them for the application of new roofing materials Unload materials and tools from work trucks Unroll roofing and fasten as directed Lay and fasten insulation as directed Attach framing material to building framework to allow fastening of roofing materials Provide assistance to skilled roofers installing and repairing roofs, flashing, and surfaces Maintain tools and equipment Drive forklift to move materials around jobsite Chop tar into small pieces, and heat chopped tar in kettles Move rock, gravel or ballast pavers for roof installation Attach sheets of metal to roof boards or building frameworks when installing metal roofs Attach roofing paper and composition shingles, using nails Cover roofs with layers of roofing felt or asphalt strips before installing tile, slate, or composition materials Hoist tar and roofing materials to roofs, using ropes and pulleys, or carry materials up ladders Apply shingles, gravel, or asphalt over the top layer of tar to protect the roofing material Set ladders, scaffolds, and hoists in place for taking supplies to roofs Check to ensure that completed roofs are watertight.Regular work days are Monday-Thursday 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, 10 hours per day, depending on weather conditions. Work on Fridays may be required. Anticipated start date: 4/1/2025, Anticipated End date: 11/1/2025.Work will be performed in multiple worksites in and around Missoula, Montana including:Kalispell, MT ; Polson, MT ; Libby, MT ; Superior, MT ; Hamilton, MT ; and Plains, MTThe employer will pay the cost of lodging during travel status to the extent such costs would reduce pay below the offered wage rate for the area of intended employment.Workers will be paid no less than a range of between $14.50 and $19.65 per hour based on worksite location and past experience.Overtime is not expected to be available.On the job training will be provided to workers.The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due, with weekly payment of workers on Friday by check or automatic deposit, and will make any deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law as well as any other deductions per employee request.If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.Workers are responsible for daily transportation to and from the designated pick-up location in Missoula, Montana.
