Job Title: Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Supervisor to oversee our refinery operations. This role involves managing on-shift operators, ensuring safety and environmental standards, and optimizing production efficiency. The position requires strong leadership and the ability to respond effectively to incidents and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Start off with shift handover from the previous supervisor

• Conduct production meetings and deliver safety messages

• Schedule day-to-day activities for the operators

• Escalate and manage risks appropriately

• Perform audit checks, troubleshooting, and documentation

• React to incidents and manage people issues on the floor

• Spend 75% of the time in the refinery and 25% in the office

• Oversee performance management and capability development of on-shift operators

• Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement effectively

• Promote safe and respectful behaviors and ensure safety and environmental performance standards are met

• Maintain Emergency Response capabilities and act as the On Scene Commander during emergencies

• Lead and/or participate in incident investigations

• Monitor and optimize operations to meet production, quality targets, and efficiency

• Respond to community concerns/complaints and inform the appropriate regulatory body as required

• Facilitate communication within the plant and with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders

MUST HAVES

• 10+ years of heavy industrial experience

• 10+ years of supervisory experience

• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of refinery processes

• Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising 10+ people, including technical roles

• Decision-making capabilities as the highest in the chain of command on night shifts

• Emergency response experience and familiarity with incident management processes

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• TSSA Certification

• Chemical education

• Technical education in power, chemical, or technology engineering

Hours:

2 days,2 nights, 4 off

4:30am-4:30pm and 4:30pm-4:30am

Work Environment

This role is based in a refinery plant, with 25% of the time spent in the office and 75% on the refinery floor. The environment is heavy industrial, and you will be supervising over 20 people. The location offers a challenging and dynamic work setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Mississauga, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
