What to Expect:
We are looking for a Senior Category and Shopper Insights Manager to join Nestlé Purina PetCare Canada in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Category and Shopper Insights, you will provide insights and analysis on consumer behavior, category performance, and market trends, while also managing data, corporate reporting, research budgets, and leading digital transformation projects.
A day in the life:
The Senior Category and Shopper Insights Manager delivers monthly performance reports with strategic insights and leads third-party category research execution. As the main contact for third-party clients, they manage inquiries and budgets while collaborating with team members to provide valuable insights during the planning cycle. They play a key role in supporting Digital Transformation Initiatives and oversee two Category Analysts on the team.
You will also:
Lead the creation and deployment of corporate point-of-sale (POS) reporting
Collaborate with cross functional teams and Sales and Marketing teams to commercialize initiatives using insights to shape strategies for category, brand, and customer initiatives.
Analyze and clarify category purchase drivers and shopper drivers by segment and channel.
Develop compelling narratives based on insights to support the organization throughout the planning cycle.
Develop NPP Category and Channel Projections. Generate reports to track performance, forecast channel performance, and ensure alignment across different teams.
Utilize Power tools to streamline data processes and improve efficiency.
Act as a point of contact for managing budgets, both internally and with third-party partners.
Collaborate with the NPP US counterpart to exchange information on category trends, insights, and research.
Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluation in consultation with the Director of Category and Shopper Insights.
Role Requirements
6+ years of experience, including at least 4 years as a Category Development Manager or Analyst, preferably with some key account management responsibilities.
Experience in people management and development is a valuable asset.
Proficiency in working with Nielsen data is essential
Completion of a University Degree in Business Administration with a focus on sales or marketing
Proficient in data gathering and storytelling to provide actionable insights and communicate them through compelling narratives.
Strong knowledge of Power tools is necessary, along with a comprehensive understanding of syndicated data and its applications.
Excellent communication and management skills are essential for presenting analytics and delivering presentations to various levels within the organization and to external customers.
Experience working with Microsoft Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, CoPilot, Nielsen Suite, Retail Link, Circana, IRI, and Numerator
