Travel Requirements: In this position, you must be able to travel throughout Canada and the United States as may be required from time to time.

Job Title- Operations Supervisor

Location -Mississauga CSC, Ontario

Reports To -Operations Manager

Summary

Provides leadership and direction to warehouse personnel for continuous improvement in areas of quality, service and cost through Operational Perfection at Southwire culture. Through personal leadership, ensure that a positive and productive working environment is created and maintained.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

• Management -Provide daily supervision of warehouse specialists to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse. Develop and implement shipping and receiving schedules and assignments to ensure efficient operation. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, coaching and disciplining employees.

• Operations-Direct and supervise checking and unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking and storage of product, picking, cutting and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high level of productivity. Tour the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems. Make recommendations on programs to improve warehouse operations.

• Quality-Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage.Ensure all ISO procedures, Wire and Cable Quality System Procedures and Work Instructions are properly followed. Support quality efforts to identify corrective and preventative actions to reduce customer returned goods.

• Documentation and Records-Ensure that all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis and efficiently maintained. Review operating goals and standards and monitor achievement of those goals.

• Inventory- Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts as required. Maintain product locator system. Ensure the optimal utilization of space. Rotate product as appropriate. Interact with corporate planning personnel and CSC operations manager in an effort to reduce scrap and obsolete material.

• Equipment-Ensure the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment.

• Safety, Housekeeping, Security-Review warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and other appropriate standards. Support activities for CAL OSHA VPP Star Site achievement.

• Communication- Attend warehouse planning meetings. Act as liaison between warehouse specialists and management. Communicate industry and brand knowledge to employees.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree desired.

• 3-5 years directly related experience in distribution management or related field.

• Requires demonstrated skills in leadership, organization and communication.

• Familiarity with personal computers, material handling equipment and computerized scanning equipment is essential.

• Strong decision-making, interpersonal and coaching skills required.

• Able to drive results.

• Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.

• Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.

• Emphasis on safety is extremely important.
