Job Description Summary

Responsible for activities and processes that assist the Environmental Health and Safety organization achieve business objectives. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Roles

  • Develop and support the execution of EHS programs for GE's services operations at customer sites, supporting the front line services teams with expertise & problem solving.

  • Completing all radiation compliance activities and provide technical support for implementing and maintaining procedures as part of the radiation protection program to maintain compliance with the Nuclear Safety & Control Act and Regulations, license requirements and other applicable regulations and GE Healthcare expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill license and other regulatory obligations for radiation protection program oversight.

  • Develop and support selected EHS programs

  • Ensure applicable licenses, registrations and permits are properly maintained.

  • Monitor field service representatives and others responsible for conventional and radiation safety compliance activities.

  • Review and analyze metrics as part of the EHS program.

  • Point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding licensing, inspections, and compliance assurance

  • Oversight of occupational monitoring

  • Investigation of safety events as part of an Investigation Team

  • Self-assessment and inspections of facilities and operations

  • Communicate with regulatory agencies as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Health Physics, Radiological Health, Occupational Health & Safety, Physical or Biological Science, or equivalent• Experience with relevant radiological operations (e.g., accelerators, x-ray devices, radiopharmaceutical production (central pharmacy or Nuclear Medicine department) or other licensed activities.

Desired Characteristics
