Acosta Group Assistant Manager, Product Marketing in Mississauga, Ontario
DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Manager for Product Marketing is co-responsible to drive all product related business decisions in conjunction with Product Managers for Product Marketing for our Samsung client over the life cycle of their product. This includes providing supports of driving product strategy into the market and absolute owner for Monthly Sales Targets and Profitability of the product. The incumbent will be a liaison between Sales, SCM, Service and Channel for all product related matters.
The Assistant Manager is also responsible of assisting the Product management team is data mining, analysis, presentations and report creation for business indicators that facilitate the decision-making process and strategy development for every category and overall company goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support on product-related business decisions for the local subsidiary over the product life cycle relating to Marketing, Sales, Finance, SCM and interfacing with HQ. This includes product line-up strategy, customer collaboration and promotion planning, product launches, product training, collaboration on merchandising and displays channel distribution strategy, price positioning, market share analysis, Forecasting, Inventory Mgmt., market analysis and research, management planning, channel distribution strategy
Collaborate with the Sales Manager/team to execute on the sales & marketing plan
Collaborate with external and internal colleagues to support product managers
Perform business analysis including research industry trends and consumer preference, provide monthly management reporting for spend, profit, share with fluctuation and risk analysis with recommendations. Data mining and analysis, prepare presentations in collaboration with PMs for upper management.
Participate in coordination with the Product management team in the decision-making process and strategy development for every category and overall company goals.
Support implementation of Business Strategies covering all pricing, channel programs and marketing promotions developing strategies to maximize sales among customers based on geography, channel type, price segmentation, business model and target market, expand market share and pursue aggressive growth targets.
Support to develop product portfolios to achieve the strategic plan, meet business objectives and increase the company’s competitive position.
Effectively communicates and liaisons with the sales teams to develop and execute product strategies and drive plans for the retail channel that are consistent with our overall distribution strategy and goals. Working with sales leadership establishing a channel distribution strategy that delivers our results as a company.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Home Electronics background is preferred
Strong analytical skills
Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications.
Ability to productively interact with distribution, retail and reseller business partners
The ability to plan, organize and implement marketing projects and programs
The ability to disseminate market information and provide the best strategic business plan
The ability to negotiate with both vendors and customers on marketing proposals and plans
The ability to develop tasks, work assignments, to clearly define objectives and give technical sales and marketing on a day-to-day level
Ability to assist in long and mid-term business planning
Ability to manage budgets and determine ROI
Must have a proven track record on results
Ability to work in a fast paced environment is a must

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 75 % of work time, including prolonged periods of time either writing or responding to emails or documents/proposals.
Performs work under moderate time schedules and stresses, which are normally periodic or cyclical and including: time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and project management stress.
Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with PC’s, printers, and office work areas. Where equipment usually weighs less than 25 pounds.
Occasionally works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
Under light supervision with responsibility to apply policies and guidelines where decisions are periodically monitored, the consequences of decisions may affect operating results and management decisions to a minor degree. Position has access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company’s competitive position.
